National Anti-Bullying Week
On Monday 13th November, we joined in with anti-bullying week and Odd Socks Day. Mrs Pipe led an assembly with the whole school talking about what bullying is and compared it to banter. We watched a video from the anti-bullying alliance and reminded ourselves of our school Diamond Rules. See the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkU2xYJKQq4
We talked about the UN Convention of Rights and linked it to article 12 - children all having a right to their voice to be heard and article 19 - all children having the right to feel safe and protected.
We enjoyed looking at all our odd socks; such a wide variety on show! We talked about how we are all different and this is a good thing.
Also, we've made bunting outside the hall with a range of messages written by the children to spread the word e.g. say no to bullies, bullying is not welcome at Dobwalls, make a noise about bullying, be kind, show respect, stop and more. The children had brilliant ideas and really enjoyed taking part and creating the bunting. Go Dobwalls!
