Every day is book day at Dobwalls, but Thursday was even more special! We celebrated World Book Day in style again this year by welcoming local author Simon James into school to lead storytelling assemblies with all the children and then illustrator workshops with our Year 5 and 6 pupils. We were delighted to welcome parents and carers into school in the morning to share stories. Thank you to many who came along to enjoy this special time together.

The children looked terrific, either dressed up as a book character or in comfy pyjamas, ready for a wealth of snuggly reading.

We had baking activities related to stories, reading carousels with different teachers across the school and author research sessions to name just a few of our activities.  Every class spent time focussing on one of Simon James' books.  The atmosphere in the school was wonderful!  One of our favourite days of the year. 

A great day was had by one and all.
